Holidays can throw you off course with your dietary goals.  Stick with this menu for a healthy and delicious Thanksgiving spread. It’s dairy and grain free!

APPETIZER:

Paleo Creamy Hot Artichoke Dip with Almond Crackers.  Great little starter with homemade crackers. Not to worry–they are super easy!

TURKEY:

We recommend reserving an organic bird ahead of time.  Try this Diestel Brand at Whole Foods.  Don’t forget if you go with a frozen turkey, you’ll need to safely thaw it out in the refrigerator 4-6 days in advance, depending on the size.  There are lots of good “how to roast a turkey” tutorials out there.  For one of the simplest ones we’ve seen, complete with a quick video, check out this on one thekitchn. They also have instructions on brining your turkey, if you’re up for that challenge.

GRAVY:

Umami Gravy by Nom Nom Paleo: This is a grain-free, make-ahead gravy that’s so convenient and delicious!  If you’d like, feel free to reserve the drippings from your perfectly roasted turkey, cool for 15 minutes, skim fat, then add to the warmed gravy for an extra boost of turkey flavor!

STUFFING:

Paleo Cranberry Flax Stuffing.   If you can’t find a good loaf of grain-free flax-based bread, try making your own ahead of time! Here’s one to try!

VEGETABLE SIDES:

Root Vegetable Mash.  You’ll totally level up your mashed potato game with this beautiful pot of mashed vegetables! Still great under gravy!

Brussels Sprouts with Caramelized Onions.  Great go to for fall dinners!

NEW! Bonus recipe Holiday Green Bean Casserole

SALAD:

Massaged Kale Salad. This will become a staple any day of the week once you try it! Plus it can be made in the morning (or even the day before!) and free up time for other cooking.

CRANBERRY SAUCE:

Spiced Cranberry Cherry Sauce.  No Thanksgiving table would be complete without a beautiful bowl of cranberry sauce! Try this spiced version with cherries for sweetness–no need for refined sugar.  You can get frozen dark sweet cherries year round.

BONUS! DINNER ROLL:

Grain Free Dinner Roll–be sure to use cassava flour and not tapioca flour.  Order it here

DESSERT:

Paleo Pumpkin Coconut Maple Custard Cups by Nom Nom Paleo. Can’t beat these creamy and delicious custards.  You won’t even miss the crust–promise!

Let us know if you try the menu–or even just part of it!

Happy Thanksgiving!
