If your weight issue is like an iceberg, and what you see in the mirror and feel in your body as you walk around and what you eat, is above the surface…

What’s keeping that all afloat (a.k.a causing it) is what you don’t see under the surface.

It’s your habits, your un-managed emotions, and all of your limiting beliefs about who you are, and what you’re capable of.

It’s your failures, and your doubts, and your fears.

And it is all caused by one thing…

Your thoughts.

Here’s how it goes:

We step on the scale and we see a number, and we think: I can’t believe I let myself get here. I will never lose this weight. What is wrong with me? I can’t stick to anything.

Instead of gravity’s effect on our body, we make that number mean something about our value as a human.

That number, seen on the scale by someone else, could mean they got to their goal and accomplished something.

When seen by you, it means you are a hopeless failure.

This is what is going on in your brain all day, every day.

Something happens, you have thoughts about it and make it mean something, then you feel the feeling that thought creates, and you react…and that is what creates the results of your life.

For many of us, the way we react is that we eat.

In order to get inside of this process and start making changes, we have to become aware that it’s going on in the first place.

Here’s where that strategy I told you about yesterday comes into play.

We are usually more aware of our feelings than our thoughts, to begin with, so all day tomorrow I want you to do this…

Every time you go to eat something, I want you to STOP and question: “What am I feeling?” and then name the feeling and make note of it – mental or otherwise.

As you do this, you will start to recognize some patterns.

Do you eat when you are bored?
Restless?
Stressed?
Overwhelmed?
Happy?

Do you eat mostly when you are feeling negative emotions or positive emotions?

Pay attention to how you feel before, during, and after.

We think food will fix, solve, or create our feelings.

We are mistaken 🙂

Food is terrible at that job.

Once you see this for yourself, you will want to fire food.

I can totally help you do that!!

Let’s talk.
