Everyone needs a reliable vinaigrette recipe in their lineup. Use it as a salad dressing or drizzled over roasted veggies. This recipe is zesty, tangy, and oil-free and can easily be transformed into a creamy dressing like in the ranch dressing variation below.
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning blend (salt-free)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a jar, and shake until combined
Variation Suggestion – Ranch Dressing:
- Replace the balsamic vinegar with the juice of 1 lemon and 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- Replace the Italian seasoning with 2 tbsp each of fresh parsley and fresh chives
- Add 1 lb. silken tofu
- Add 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Omit the dijon mustard
- Add all ingredients to a blender of food processor and blend until smooth
